[It's not so much that Makie has a clean bill of health-- she needs to keep taking this medication for another four months or so, by the clinic's reports. But she hasn't had a coughing fit in weeks and feels pretty healthy, all things considered-- just a little drained, that's all. And now, she's passed the bar of her illness. She's no longer contagious.

Which means she can stop holing herself up in her room and start going forward with plans to actually, you know...

...live a little.

What a concept.

She still doesn't go out until the afternoon though, tracking down Saori (and other house members if they're around) to inform them of a decision she's made during her convalescence. And then likely packing what very few things she has, and putting haru-no-okina through some well-needed maintenance out on the sunny rooftop. But in the afternoon she goes to several places, shamisen in hand:

Seventh Heaven, to ask after her old job;

The tea house, because it's been a while;

The forge, to request a weapon;

The Welcome Centre, to find out what apartments are still free;

And finally, back to the battledome to investigate it more thoroughly. (She keeps an eye out for Konan on her travels, mindful of an offer made a long while ago. Just in case.) Once she knows sufficiently enough (or someone programs it for her), she steps into one of its rooms for the first time, shamisen neatly tucked to the side out of harm's way, and experiences it for herself. (The program name of the day: Shift Hunters. How fitting, that they're like giant wild dogs.)

...probably stays in there a little too long, though, since her stamina is kind of shredded right now.

[Makie spends her 10xp on trying not to look startled. Though the mention of Mecha Sanji helps turn that into more of a startled smile.]

No doubt something I can barely understand. [She grins a little.] He's a very odd thing.

He is. But admittedly very useful. ...Especially during experiments. It's nice to have a reliable line chef.

Is that what the future is, do you think? Robot cooks?

Maybe. I mean...I think they had robotic things, in the Capitol. I never saw any, but...

...maybe all places have them, in the future.

It seems rather strange. I wonder what the rest of us would do if robots were in charge of everything.

Perhapd we'd merely have more time to do the things that we enjoy. Though I wonder if we'd truly be satisfied in a world like that.

I'm not sure. I know that I - well. Already, with everything being free...it makes me a little uncomfortable sometimes. Normally my sister and I trade for things.

[Makie's face practically lights up in understanding.]

That's why I took the job here. It didn't feel right to just...take whatever I wanted.

[ Prim grins, relieved that Makie gets it. Not everyone seems to. ]

Me too, really. I like to...I don't know. Contribute.

Yes. I feel it's better never to take things for granted. And carrying my own weight is... very important to me.

It is to me, too. I think...maybe it has to do with the worlds we came from.

Mm. [Considering the few things she knows of Prim's world...] The environments we grew up in.

...That's right. I think Chouji might have similar feelings about working, but I'd have to ask to be sure.

I think you might be right. Chouji is such a polite boy.

[ He is. And Prim still, you know. Remembers dating him.

And she doesn't think that would be such a bad thing. ]

He is. And kind, too.

[She remembers Prim dating Chouji, too.]

Very. Even after the invasion, we still talked for quite a while. He brought me meals sometimes... I don't think his personality changed much at all.

I don't think so either. I think - many of us didn't. Change that much. It was just...

...our pasts were different. And that did change some things. But not all.

I changed a great deal.

It was...interesting. I suppose I could have turned out like that if I had the... family that I did.

My family...

...I always loved them. Even at home. So - I suppose the difference was...how happy things were.

The same. [She smiles faintly.] I was a rather wild little girl when I was young. Growing up in the other reality means I never really changed.

It was...a nice detour. I think.
