Used to babysit Clary Fray years and years ago, but the two have kept in touch. She's helping Clary try to find contacts in the arts community
She was on good terms with Steve Rogers, one of her fellow teachers; he teaches the Arts, so she was kind of plugging Clary to him in the hopes he could put her in touch with the wider arts community
She also used to visit Jefferson's teashop regularly until she got ill. Now he delivers tea to her home and they maintain contact on the telephone as they're both reserved shut-in types
Yukari was also one of her students, and with the two of them being Japanese in a mostly white town, they spent a lot of time talking after classes

Makie has all of her true memories back, and knows the above ones have been forced on her by the town. But she doesn't really mind; they're kind of nice.
