[Makie has had the facts of this place explained to her already, by a gentleman in a... fairly awkward situation.

It doesn't prepare her for the reality of a village with occupants like none she's ever seen before. Some of you aren't even human, Luceti. The hell. She wanders the path of the village from Community Building #1 down toward the plaza still in her New Feather dress, just like a gawking tourist, and spends some time staring at the fountain and plaza itself. Uh.

...right. Okay. Time to begin glancing through various shops in her attempts to find the places she was told her things would be. She finds her clothes with a measure of relief, and her shamisen at the item store-- and after she picks it up, she frowns. It's too light. She doesn't need to open it to know she's missing something.

Eventually, she'll find her way into the forge to pick up the last of her things, pays a visit to the Welcome Centre-- and then finally fetches up at the tea shop, which is the most familiar-looking thing here.

...sort of. Never really loses that dazed and confused look.]

Heh! The guy with the green suit and big eyebrows? Yeah! He wanted me to be a teacher of sorts to him once. He's a bit of an excitable guy if you ask me.

You know, I'm really not sure. [Gun-fighting.] I think it might have been competitive eating and then napping.

I don't know I've never tried being a teacher before. [Vash goes ahead and rushes forward so that he can hold the door open for Makie.]

Perhaps you should. I'm sure there are many in the world who would benefit from learning the fine art of napping.

Ahahahaha! You know! You raise a good point! I bet there are people who could benefit from my life lessons when it comes to the fine art of napping!

Oh! You are most welcome Miss Makie! Anything to do to help! [He's still following around like a puppy. You'll have to do better to be rid of this man.]

[...seriously :| Makie isn't all that surprised, mind. But as she's not sure what she thinks of him, she just ...sort of tries to pretend she hasn't noticed him following her. You'll have to carry this conversation, Vash.]

[Unluckily for Makie, but luckily for Vash is that he's use to being politely ignored so he has no problem following behind her just a few short feet away and holding a one man conversation if he must.] Is there anything else you're missing? We could probably find it in the item shop!

I already asked you about my shamisen, Mr Vash. {Remember.] Thank you for the directions. I believe that's all there is left.

Oh, yes! Of course! You uh, thing! I didn't forget! [And he didn't. He just was making sure she hadn't thought of anything else or had decided to head elsewhere first.] Let me get the door for you! [And once more he's running forward with the biggest grin on his face.]

Thank you. [And just... giving in gracefully. If he still follows her all the way to the Welcome Centre, she can use talking to another person as a reason to ditch him. Makie just can't bring herself to tell him to go away.

In the door she goes.

And freaks out at the giant floating pegasus with a surfboard gets hit on by Jack Horner HUZZAH A NEW TIME LINE stops to stare at all the different, and completely bizarre and unfamiliar, paraphernalia that makes up this store.]

[Vash actually hadn't been in the item shop in awhile. He actually eventually loses a LITTLE interest in Makie just to look over some of the items in the shop. Still didn't look like anything of his back home had shown up, then again, he didn't really have too many possessions anyway.

If Makie wanted to ditch him, she has about half a second after he hears the door open to try to vanish. Right now he's gotten distracted by a little snow globe with a smiling snowman in it.]

[She's the disowned daughter of a samurai, not a ninja, gosh. The thought never even crosses Makie's mind.

Instead, after she gets over her first view of the shop, she shakes her head slightly and begins moving through the store looking for her shamisen. If she gets distracted by the unfamiliar, she'll be here all day.

...there. Resting on top of a cardboard box. Nobody's had time to put it on display yet. She moves for it.]

[Eventually once she picks the instrument up Vash catches on that she's holding something and puts the snow globe into his pocket.] Is that the, uh, thing you were looking for? A Sham-i...sen?

[Wow so assumptive DID THAT TAG SAY SHE PICKED IT UP GOSH

bnr because of course she's picked it up the moment she's reached it. Vash is perceptive enough no doubt to pick the subtle change that comes over her expression, and her gaze flicked back to him as he speaks is more calculating.]

A shamisen. Yes.

[If he notices he doesn't say anything about the look.] Yeah? It looks kinda like a guitar. With less strings.

[She assumes a guitar is just a similar instrument (and she'd be right) but her mind is on other things.]

Is this the only store where people's belongings are brought?

Well, there's this, the clothing store, and the smith shop. But mostly just weapons show up there.

[Ah. Well, that makes sense. She did see a sign for a forge out front; she'll try there later.

...when she's ditched Vash.]
