[Makie has had the facts of this place explained to her already, by a gentleman in a... fairly awkward situation.

It doesn't prepare her for the reality of a village with occupants like none she's ever seen before. Some of you aren't even human, Luceti. The hell. She wanders the path of the village from Community Building #1 down toward the plaza still in her New Feather dress, just like a gawking tourist, and spends some time staring at the fountain and plaza itself. Uh.

...right. Okay. Time to begin glancing through various shops in her attempts to find the places she was told her things would be. She finds her clothes with a measure of relief, and her shamisen at the item store-- and after she picks it up, she frowns. It's too light. She doesn't need to open it to know she's missing something.

Eventually, she'll find her way into the forge to pick up the last of her things, pays a visit to the Welcome Centre-- and then finally fetches up at the tea shop, which is the most familiar-looking thing here.

...sort of. Never really loses that dazed and confused look.]

[Well it was clearly Makie's lucky day as Alexei had been released from the hospital earlier today and chose to go back to his place to freshen up a little when she decided to show up on him.

Although he was definitely sure there was no one in the apartment before he went to take a shower. So naturally, he was taken aback after he finished his shower and pulled to curtain to suddenly find a woman he had never seen before in his bathtub.]

How...? [Very few things normally surprise him in a place like Luceti, but sometimes it still catches him off guard. Noting the woman's clothes, she must have been new...and slowly all the pieces come together. Looking irritable, he decides not to wake her up just yet. He's...not exactly wearing anything right now and he's sure seeing someone indecent would be the last thing this woman wanted to see. So, he's going to attempt to leave the bathroom to get his clothes first.]

[Makie's half awake as it is-- the sounds of the shower intruded enough into her sleep that she starts stirring with the hazy thoughts that it must be raining--

--and whatever she's lying on is far less comfortable than the mat she curled up on the night before. Her shoulderblades feel stiff and sore, and though she thinks maybe she just...rolled onto the hard floor in the night, it's enough to get her moving...

...and she cracks open an eye just in time to see a naked man disappear from the room.

Wonderful thing to wake up to, Alexei. She won't make a sound. Not until he leaves the room, at any rate-- though he could still turn to catch her staring at him before he goes.]

[A teen monk is sitting at the desk at the Welcome Center. As Makie enters, he smiles and waves.]

[Today, Rock Lee has made a decision. He will barrel across the village at full speed. He is certain that he can reach a speed high enough to make Gai-Sensei appear here and congratulate him. Of that, he is absolutely sure. Lee misses him dearly.

He was certain that no one would be in his path. But there is, as he moves at an incredible speed towards her. He tries to take measures to avoid her, but he starts by shouting at the top of his lungs.]

[Jade is sitting in a table at the tea shop, quietly drinking some tea in full Maluth military regalia. As the woman enters, he gives her a quick look-over and comes to a simple conclusion. He addresses her as he lowers his cup.]

[Well he kinda notices movement out of the corner of his eye as he reaches the doorway. So of course he stops and turn his head to glance down at her.

...Yea, this is really off to a good start and he can feel himself being more embarrass than he already is. He's just very good at hiding the fact in front of her. So he'll turn his head back around and just--]

Pardon me for a moment. [Clothes. Let's go get them now. God damn this place. He's actually going red in the face. She can't see it, so it's ok. The initial reaction will go away soon.]

[Makie says nothing in response, just averts her eyes as he speaks. A polite response and an exit means this is probably as awkward for him as it for...]

[Aang quickly gets out of his chair to be more friendly and - oh, she bowed! He gives a bit of a bow back.]

Well you came to the right place! My name's Aang. I can help you with that and any other questions you've got.

...yeah, it's about now she realises she's lying prone in a bathtub.

She's pretty sure this flophouse didn't have one of these.

She struggles up, wincing at the tenderness in her back, and flatly ignores the journal that slides to one side of her as she glances down and realises this isn't what she went to sleep in, either. In fact, she's decidedly underdressed in a shift that's just plain strangely made. And her shamisen is nowhere to be seen in this... room...

They didn't make bathrooms like this in the 18th century, okay. But Makie is less concerned with the decor and more with the possible reason she's here, because the only reasons she can think of are bad ones, and they've taken her shamisen away.

Time to investigate the cabinet drawers for something sharp.]

[The bow is a bit relieving, to be honest. Her smile is a little more genuine, and she shifts, her posture relaxing slightly, arms folded over her shamisen.] A gentleman already showed me the guide to this place, and I've found my belongings. But I have no place to stay, and I'm not sure how to go about finding one.

[Rock Lee, what are you doing. Makie glances up in startlement at the yelling, and plain stares in astonishment at the boy running straight for her.

She's surprised enough she nearly lets him barrel right into her on the sidewalk, but reflexes take over soon enough and she neatly sidesteps, turning to continue gaping at him as he barrels on past. THE PEOPLE IN THIS TOWN ARE WEIRD.]

[Makie glances at him as he speaks, and her gaze takes in the light hair and the uniform and the glasses, before she inclines her head.] I just arrived this morning, sir.

[The uniform is unfamiliar but its purpose isn't. She assumes he's one of the people in authority here. Respect is playing it safe.]

[Well the few sharp things she might find is a razor blade, or scissors.

Anyway, while she's doing that Alexei's getting himself some clothes on. Nice to not be wearing a hospital gown anymore. Vaguely he can hear her moving in the bathroom. If she's new she is likely confuse.]

I suppose you're wondering how you found yourself in someone's tub. [He decides to try and have some small talk. Talking like this at least was a little easier.]

Oh, he's talking. She pauses, then gives up on the search as a lost cause, sitting on the edge of the bath. The mystery naked man is being polite, at least.]

...yes. [Her voice is likely too quiet to be heard through the wall, and she raises it as much as she dares. Which isn't all that much, but she can just be heard.] Where am I?

That doesn't make her feel reassured, for some odd reason.]

I see. Well... That shouldn't be too hard! I can check the housing lists and see if there's anything empty for you. Just one second! [And he starts rifling through the boring papers at the desk.]

[He's impressed at her reflexes, while at the same time he is still trying to move himself to avoid the space she just occupied. He chooses to make a sudden jump in the air and then goes through a series of flips until he slams into a wall and then falls down to the ground.]

For a few seconds. Before she blinks.] Oh...

Forgive my rudeness, sir. My name is Makie Otono-Tachibana. [Introductions should be matched. She's really not on the ball.]

That was both impressive and... painful-looking. And not at all amusing. Really. She has better manners than that.]

[And now he's lost her completely. But all the same, she doesn't particularly feel threatened by this man-- not with this civility or his bearing, even if he dresses as oddly as he looks. Makie has a growing sense of the surreal. The explanation makes no sense to her.

But she doesn't think he's lying. Not...deliberately.]
